Thoughts and Insights: Change the campus, change the world.
“If we could change the campus today, we could change the world tomorrow! Changing the world means focusing on the campus,” says Pastor Oriel Ballano during the Campus Revolution Conference at Cuneta Astrodome last June 18, 2011.
Aside from the fact that young people are the prime movers of today, don’t forget that they are also the front liners of tomorrow. The future presidents, senators, media practitioners, doctors, architects & engineers, fathers & mothers are all found in the campus. They will shape and lead the nation tomorrow. The future is in their hands! So we need to put our focus, effort, and even our resources on them.
I can say that the campus is in the top 10 hit list of Satan to annihilate and devastate mankind. He knows that if he destroys the campus, he has already won. Like what Pastor Oriel shared, the final frontier is in the campus. Try to think about it, if the media (which I think is in the number 1 list of Satan to destroy humanity) could have godly, convinced, and committed Christian practitioners in the future, the battle has already been won for God. And again, they are all found in the campuses, nowhere else.
Yes, I agree that it is unimaginable to see pastors with a passion for the youth but is never committed in the campus. This is overlooked and we need to change this. Fraternities must be eradicated even activists who are just like clanging cymbals must be shut off. We cannot change the world with passionate ranting. Christians must invade campuses. Darating ang araw mawawasak sila kasi papasok na tayo sa campus! We must produce godly students who will die for the cause of loving God, winning souls and making disciples!
Pastor Oriel shares two things. I’ll enumerate it and share my insights and add one more point.
1. Join the cause. Let’s change the youth. They are the hope of the world. A lot of us love to be supporters, spectators and watchers of the cause. But for Christ’s sake join the cause! Quit being the fans club of Jesus! Be the star player! Do not just watch history unfold, make history.
Wala ng sitting ministry…
Wala ng tither lang…
Wala ng intercession lang..
Walang ng supporters lang…
Join the cause!
2. Live the cause. Walk your talk. Live what you preach. 1 Timothy 4:16 says “Watch your life and doctrine closely.” Don’t be immorally inconsistent of teaching one thing and practicing another. Partner words with deeds. The world needs examples not mere exhorters. Charisma cannot change the world, integrity will.
Walang ng mangongopya….
Wala ng magnanakaw…
Walang ng pa yosi-yosi…
Walang ng sinungaling…
Wala na munang ligawan…
Iwanan na muna ang boyfriend at girlfriend…
Seryoso wala ng DOTA!
Wala ng tatamad tamad…
Wala ng sasagot sa magulang…
Mag-aral mabuti. Pwede bang campus changer pero babagsak-bagsak?
To be honest, I am a number one enemy of compromisers! They can never be used by God mightily, never. Compromisers will never ever change the world. Jesus hates them, I hate them! I don’t waste my time talking to them. I don’t even mingle with them. They are my greatest enemy!
3. Die for the cause. I suggest if you wanna live your life to the fullest, look for something to die for. As Pastor Manny had said “Di ka pa nabubuhay kung di mo alam saan ka mamatay.” And the only cause worth dying for is Jesus Christ because it is the only cause that will impact eternity. Jesus Christ was the greatest example of this when he died on the cross. “Ang mamatay ng dahil sayo…”
If you want to join the cause:
1. Get equipped. It’s unthinkable for a 13-year old girl who has the passion to be a doctor is allowed to handle an operation in the emergency room. No, it will be a total wreck for the patient. She needs to be equipped. It is the same thing with discipleship. If you want to start a cell, don’t be in a hurry. Passion is never an indication of success but passion along with training is. Many Pastors get overwhelmed when a person who has gone through an Encounter wants to start a cell already and they are allowing it. Yes, that person is passionate but it’s too soon for him. He must be trained. Don’t be in a rush, be equipped. Don’t deprive a new Christian to be spiritually nurtured no matter how fiery and passionate they may be.
“Don’t be in any rush to become a teacher, my friends. Teaching is highly responsible work. Teachers are held to the strictest standards.” James 3:1 (The Message)
Even the 12 disciples of Jesus underwent 3 years of training. After the training has been done packed with the power of the Holy Ghost, they started preaching the gospel and were used in ways they’ve never thought possible! They became world changers.
If you are a new Christian and wants to join the cause, undergo the process: Encounter, trainings and School of Leaders. And I’ll tell you, you will be used in ways beyond human mind can reach!
2. Get mobilized – It doesn’t end in training; in fact you are being trained to get mobilized. Know how, why, who, where and when. This season is exciting because the Lord gave us a strategy to become intentional in winning and starting cells in the campuses. Intentional winning is the key. Last June 21 from 6 to 9pm we launched our strategy called “The Prayer of Three”. We gathered at Radiance of Christ International, almost 500 committed leaders came. All School of Leaders students were mobilized for this campaign. Keep in mind, yes, you are being trained but remember you must be mobilized to make this happen!
3. Be consistent – Finish what you’ve started. Finish the race. Be stable. Be reliable. Be unwavering. Be immovable. Be unstoppable. You can be the most passionate person on earth like shooting stars soaring high and blazing hot for Jesus and – just disappear. TRAGIC! Boy, you’re a crap! You’re the biggest loser. Jesus doesn’t deserve inconsistent people because he is consistent even to the point of death, he never gave up. The disciples lose their heads but never gave up. If your foundation is your feelings and emotions better quit this cause because you can be a major distraction.
Be consistent. Campus ministry is gonna be tough. Starting and maintaining and growing a cell is gonna be hard, but if there’s no pain, there will be no gain! Even Jesus, our all powerful Messiah, suffered – a lot.
I am seeing people planting cells in their campuses. Forget about putting up a campus organization, it will follow later. Start crying for your closest friends in school. Start winning them. Open a cell. Plant a seed, water it, take care of it and it will grow like a tree bearing much fruit!
We’ve been doing campus invasions and classroom evangelisms for years now, in fact majority of our members in History Makers were won in campuses and I can testify that the Spirit of God is strongly moving there! We need to forcefully advance the Kingdom of God by being intentional this time and you will see right before your very eyes students crying and surrendering their lives for Jesus – willing to be discipled and sent for the cause!
Special mention to all our School of Leaders students, you are all world changers! I know you can do better than the previous generation! Its time for you to make history and witness God's mighty hand through you. Change your campus. Change the world.
